Senior Manager, Labor Operations & Strategy

Sun Auto Tire & Service

Drive Strategy. Empower People. Shape the Future of Labor Operations.

Sun Auto Tire & Service is one of the fastest‑growing automotive service providers in the nation — and we’re just getting started. We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Labor Operations & Strategy to lead the development, optimization, and execution of our enterprise labor strategy across hundreds of locations.

This high‑impact leader will strengthen workforce performance, elevate scheduling and staffing practices, and ensure our field teams have the tools, insights, and support needed to deliver exceptional guest experiences, every time.

Why You’ll Love This Role

As a strategic and operational leader, you will own labor performance outcomes that directly fuel profitability, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence. You’ll work cross‑functionally with Finance, Technology, HR, and regional leadership — while leading a talented team of Labor Analysts.

If you're energized by solving complex workforce challenges, improving labor efficiency at scale, and empowering field operations, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Do

Labor Strategy & Performance Leadership

  • Build, evolve, and operationalize labor strategy across multiple store formats.
  • Establish enterprise labor guardrails and performance standards (PTIM, overtime, FOH/BOH mix, staffing-to-sales alignment, schedule execution, and more).
  • Lead Workforce Managers across regions, ensuring consistent scheduling standards and staffing model adoption.
  • Participate in regional business reviews and guide leaders through labor KPIs and action planning.
  • Partner with market and regional leadership to identify gaps and drive labor optimization.

Workforce Management & Analytics

  • Lead Field Labor Analysts and oversee Workforce Managers.
  • Own enterprise labor reporting, analytics, and data integrity.
  • Drive adoption of workforce tools including Paycom, BI dashboards, and internal scheduling systems.
  • Identify trends, surface insights, and prioritize interventions for underperforming regions.

Tools, Processes & Field Enablement

  • Build simple, scalable labor tools, templates, and dashboards.
  • Integrate labor strategy into daily operating rhythms and SOPs.
  • Ensure tools and processes are intuitive for store and district leaders.

Training, P&L Education & Labor Acumen

  • Develop and deliver training on PTIM, labor management, and capacity planning.
  • Reinforce labor understanding as both a cost control and revenue driver.
  • Create ongoing “tune‑up” programs to strengthen field labor execution.

Cross‑Functional Partnership & Innovation

  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and performance rhythms.
  • Work with Technology on enhancements to scheduling systems, automation, and BI capabilities.
  • Collaborate with HR on workforce planning, incentives, change management, and staffing models.
  • Research industry best practices and lead pilots to improve throughput and labor utilization.

You’ll Be Accountable For

  • Improved enterprise PTIM
  • Stronger schedule execution across all regions
  • Accurate staffing (headcount, hours, FOH/BOH mix)
  • Adoption of labor tools and scheduling systems
  • Reduction of labor waste (unplanned OT, misalignment, etc.)
  • Consistent execution of labor standards

What You Bring

  • 7–10+ years in labor strategy, workforce management, or operations leadership
  • Experience in automotive service, retail, hospitality, or multi‑unit operations
  • Deep understanding of automotive labor models (flag/flat‑rate, productivity, capacity)
  • Proven ability to improve PTIM, scheduling, and workforce deployment
  • Experience leading analytical or workforce teams
  • Strong analytical capability with BI tool proficiency
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with Paycom, Kronos, Reflexis, or similar workforce systems
  • P&L partnership experience strongly preferred
  • Automotive operations experience a plus

Why Sun Auto?

  • A growing national automotive brand with strong career advancement opportunities
  • Collaborative and people-first culture
  • Opportunity to make an enterprise-wide impact across hundreds of stores
  • Competitive compensation and full benefits package
