Overview

Talent Management Manager 

US Remote 

Reports to: Chief People Officer 

$100-140K plus 20% Bonus 

Background Required: 6+ years of progressive experience in Talent Management, Organizational Development, or related HR disciplines in a fast-growing multi-State organization, preferably in aftermarket auto or retail with a field-based organization.

Key Responsibilities 

Talent Strategy & Program Leadership 

  • Lead the development and execution of Sun Auto’s enterprise talent management strategy aligned to business priorities and cultural values. 
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve core talent processes including: 
  • Performance Management (goal setting, mid-year reviews, annual reviews) 
  • Talent Review & Calibration 
  • Succession Planning 
  • Individual Development Planning (IDPs) 
  • High-Potential Identification & Development 
  • Build frameworks and tools that enable leaders to assess, differentiate, and develop talent consistently across the organization. 

 

Performance Management 

  • Lead the full performance cycle, ensuring clarity in expectations, alignment to business priorities, and fair assessment of performance and behaviors. 
  • Train and equip leaders to deliver effective feedback and coaching. 
  • Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to ensure meaningful, high-quality performance conversations. 

 

Talent Reviews & Succession Planning 

  • Design and facilitate annual talent review and succession planning processes for all functions and levels. 
  • Collaborate with the CPO and business leaders to assess leadership depth, identify critical roles, and create succession pipelines. 
  • Track and report on successor readiness, bench strength, and development actions. 

 

Leadership & Development Solutions 

  • Partner with L&D to create development pathways for critical roles, high-potential employees, and emerging leaders. 
  • Oversee design and deployment of competency, skills, and capability frameworks. 
  • Support organizational-wide development programs, workshops, and initiatives. 

 

Data & Insights 

  • Build and maintain dashboards, metrics, and reporting that offer visibility into performance, potential, readiness, and other talent indicators. 
  • Use data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to talent and organizational capability. 
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the CPO and executive team. 

 

Change & Stakeholder Management 

  • Partner closely with HRBPs and the HR Operations team to ensure talent processes are integrated, scalable, and well-communicated. 

 

Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in Talent Management, Organizational Development, or related HR disciplines. 
  • Experience in fast-growing, multi-unit or multi-state organizations (automotive, retail, or field-based environments preferred). 
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling talent processes from concept to deployment. 

 

Skills & Competencies 

  • Deep expertise in performance management, talent reviews, and succession planning. 
  • Strong project management, facilitation, and organizational skills. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive presence. 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using talent data for decision-making. 
  • Ability to simplify complex processes and create practical, leader-friendly tools. 
  • High learning agility, adaptability, and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
