Senior Financial Analyst – Acquisitions 

US Remote 

Reports to: Director of M&A 

Compensation: $110 - 125K base plus 10% bonus potential 

Background Required: 2-3 years financial analyst experience in corporate development, transaction advisory services or investment banking. Experience with Excel financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and corporate valuation methodologies. Multi-unit retail experience a big plus!

As a Senior Financial Analyst this role will put you in the middle of our acquisition process. You will be responsible for leading, underwriting, and managing our M&A activities with cross-functional support teams. Your work will involve quantitative and qualitative analytical decision support on high-priority strategic initiatives to help drive our broader growth strategy. Example projects may include business model analysis, competitive analysis, market sizing, acquisition evaluation, take-out cost analysis, and valuation modeling.  

The role requires a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in corporate development, transaction advisory services, investment banking, or strategic corporate finance. 

This would be a great role for a professional looking to transition to a corporate development role who has a strong professional background in finance analytics. 

Responsibilities 

• Build detailed operational and valuation models evaluating new acquisition targets 

• Prepare formal investment memos for presentation to Sun Auto’s Senior Leadership Team (“SLT”) 

• Perform ad hoc analyses on acquisition targets performance, operations, and growth  

• Assist with transaction structuring and LOI drafting  

• Partner with internal teams (supply chain, human resources, development, legal, etc.) and external 3rd parties to support Sun Auto’s acquisition due diligence process 

• Conduct market research assessing market size, industry trends, competitors, and business models   

• Lead and assist with internal quality-of-earnings projects as necessary  

• Synthesize findings and analysis into actionable insight to inform organization decision making (with guidance from project leads) 

Required / Minimum Qualifications  

• Experience and understanding with Excel financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and corporate valuation methodologies 

• 2-3 years' experience in corporate development, transaction advisory services, investment banking, or a strategic corporate finance role

• Multi-unit retail experience a big plus! 

• Strong analytical, quantitative and communication skills 

• Ability to think critically and handle ambiguity  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics preferred but not required
• Will require approximately 10% overnight travel
